Acne Skin Care Centers

Many skin care centers focus on treating acne and keeping it under control. The focus of such establishments is not symptomatic treatment but overall control and prevention. This often includes stress management, lifestyle advice, and personal counseling.
While the modus operandi may vary from center to center, most of them provide certain standard services. For instance, almost all acne care centers advocate the use of retinoids (which are Vitamin A-based) to prevent abnormal skin cell proliferation. Others will employ the use of therapeutic light (or photodynamic) therapy. All of them will include hygiene and exercise in their program, and quite a few even offer acne surgery where extensive scarring has taken place. This last option is, of course, a highly specialized medical field and can therefore, if advocated, be seriously considered at a certified acne care center.
Medical experts at these centers will also emphasize proper liver function, dietary adjustments, soundness of the digestive system and overall internal health. Depending on the orientation of its treatment program, the center will employ either pharmacological, homeopathic or organic (natural) treatment modules or subtle combinations of all of them.
There are various center specializing in acne care and treatment in America including the American Dermatology Center, Perfect Skin Laser Center, and the Fayces Skin Care Center.
People who feel that their acne needs overall professional care should contact an acne care center.

Acne: Do You Have One?

Author: Michelle Moris

Have you experienced a swelling in your skin? And then you tried to pop it? Well after reading this you must now think twice before popping that swell. Because that swell may be acne.

Acne is common to people nowadays. Acne is also known as pimples or more scientifically, vulgaris. It is caused when your pores get clogged causing an accumulation of fatty material from your oil gland or sebaceous gland.

Not all your pores are affected by acne. The reason for this is still a mystery. Because of the accumulation in the pores, a swell may eventually appear which is known as blackheads or whiteheads. Blackheads are not caused by dirt but by the chemical reaction of the fatty material in the pores with the air. Air causes the discoloration of the fatty material causing a black "bump".

Acne has many different types along with different superstitious beliefs, theories and treatments. These different types of treatments may work for others but not on you because of acne's complexity. So, don't just believe on what your friends tell you or what the TV commercial promises with your acne. Those may just be one of theories and superstitious beliefs.

We already know about the physical effects of acne (When you pop it its causes more acnes or worse it becomes a life-long scar), but how about its psychological effects? Teenagers with acne tend to have lower self-confidence that leads to their feeling of isolation and being awkward to their peers with clear skin. Acnes made people cry, and angry. Thousands of people each year are afflicted by it, and it makes recluses out of a good many teenagers.

Teens are not the only one suffering from acne, adult acne is also common nowadays. Unlike teen's acne, adult acne is due to the changes that our skin goes through as we mature. Scars caused by acnes in adults are more severe than the scars of teens with acne. Adults, unlike teens are less likely to find treatment to their acnes, leaving them to suffer alone.

Acne has two main categories. It can be inflammatory acne or non-inflammatory acne. Whether if you're an adult or a teen, your acne may fall to one of these categories.

Blackheads and whiteheads are signs of non-inflammatory acne. Unlike non-inflammatory acnes, inflammatory acnes are harder to identify. Some symptoms of inflammatory acnes may be papules, pustules and in more severe cases, nodules or cysts.

You can look for different kinds of treatments once you already know on what category your acne falls. Always remember that if a certain treatment didn't work for your acne, you can always try some other treatments. The technology nowadays, has given rise to new treatments. Researchers are now developing some new treatments that might be the one your waiting for and might give you the clear skin your longing for.

Another treatment which may be more effective is that avoid grain products such as bread, corn, cereals and pastries. Also, don't forget to always drink your vitamins because it may just help you with acne. But still, these methods may not work for you. Maybe, you should just use your own judgment in treating your acne or just consult your dermatologist.

Now, do you still want to pop that swell?

Will This Help My Acne?

Author: Louise Forrest

It is sad, but true. Whatever the reasons behind it may be, you have acne. The pores in your skin are becoming clogged with debris, bacteria, and dead cells. Blackheads, red and inflamed pores, and other blemishes have begun to tarnish your once clear skin. If you are fortunate enough to know the specific reasons behind your acne, you can help to control it.

Other people out there are constantly searching for the next breakthrough in fighting acne. With modern day medicine, different and unique treatments are coming out all the time. But are these newfangled ideas of any use to you? How can they help your acne, and more importantly, will they help your acne?
One of these new ideas is a liquid antiseptic. When you pop or squeeze a pimple, you may be doing damage to your skin, opening a wound and leaving the potential for a tiny pot mark later on in your face. However, a lot of times people forget this information or simply cannot help themselves. A pimple is aggravatingly large or simply begging to be popped and we are more than happy to oblige.

When you pop it, you can put this liquid antiseptic over the small wound, which will fill in the area and then harden. It is somewhat like an instant scab, protecting the damaged area from bacteria and giving it the chance to heal faster and possibly better.

The catch? This is not a way to prevent your breakouts. Nor is it a way to help heal current breakouts. This product is more for patching up blemishes you yourself have poked at too much. In that respect, it can be handy, but what you really want is to keep breakouts from occurring in the first place. Are you thinking you could put it over your pores in the first place?

No, because that is definitely not what this product is for, nor is it recommended that you do this, as blocking your pores completely will only lead to oil buildup and an irritated pore, hence more acne. A good product, but not what you are looking for unless you are constantly popping your acne blemishes, something you want to avoid doing in the first place.

The second so called hot product (pardon the pun) is a device that supposedly causes bacteria to self destruct. How is this possible? A small, hand held device that could easily be mistaken for a cell phone in size and metallic coloring, has a tip that heats up that is then placed on the skin. The heat used is supposed to very depending upon the pimple you have put the heat on, and upon first contact, it feels quite hot. This heat is supposed to cause the bacteria to begin self destructing, thus reducing the size of the pimple over a period of 24 hours and a few uses of the device.

The catch? The claim for devices such as these (which can cost as much as $100 and upward) is that they work 90 percent of the time. However, you will not know whether or not you will fall into the 10 percent that it will not work for. Sure, 90 percent is a pretty good number, but it does not matter for the 10 percent the device does not help.

It is also recommended that you use the device as soon as possible on a pimple, otherwise it may grow too big and be out of control, which means it will be beyond the help of the heat the device uses. Other restrictions include only using it on mild to moderate acne, and it works only for pimples. It will have no effect on whiteheads, blackheads, or pustules. Sure, it looks cool and sounds pretty nifty, but expensive and may not even work for your skin.

New technology is great and appreciated, but your best bet for helping acne is by understanding the reasons for it and maintaining a good skin care regimen. Eating right, exercising, and taking care of your skin can make a great deal of difference, and if necessary, you can always rely on specific creams and medications already proven to help acne.

Acne Skin Care: 8 Simple Tips To Follow

Author: Kathlene Capelle -
Source: articledashboard.com

Commonly affecting the skin condition of people between the ages of 12 and 24 is a disease called acne. The cause of acne is difficult to determine. However, in the secretion of the sebaceous glands is indicated as the cause to trigger most acne outbreaks. Pilosebaceous units are the combination of hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the skin. Except for the surface of the palms and soles, pilosabaceous units are in the skin tissue throughout the body. They are responsible in secreting the oily substance called sebum. However, stress due to many factors (eg, hormonal imbalances, and the natural condition of the skin), the sebaceous glands can be induced to produce more sebum than usual. When this happens, the excess oil plugs the skin pores. This process brings about bacterial infection and stimulate the immune system response. Finally, results from inflammation of acne. Acne can strike at any skin type. A type of fat is more subseptible skin to acne. Dry skin on the other hand, may not be as susceptible, but severe outbreaks may occur during the winter. Normal skin is equally susceptible to acne, but the severity level can not be that high. Today, acne is still not completely curable but can be remedied with several methods of skin care of acne. Many seek the aid of topical medications that are applied to the skin surface. However, employing the use of products for skin care and acne "pore strip pads" can remove whiteheads and blackheads, but would have no effect on the excess sebum produced. However, to remedy and prevent, is better use of the following 8 Simple tips: 1. A healthy, balanced diet should be observed. Therefore, food intake must incorporate all the essential nutrients the body needs for efficient operation. 2. Drink plenty of fluids like water, juice. Minimize the consumption of carbonated beverages. 3. Component is not recommended. 4. Wash your face with mild soap and water. The logic is not to remove the dirt (like most acne caused person perceive) but to remove the plugs in the pores of the skin, which may be a combination of dead skin cells, bacteria and hardened sebum. Although dirt is not really the cause of acne, may contribute to further infection through its interaction with skin debris and particles and extra oil in the skin. 5. Cleaning pads for topical use may contain one or a combination of the following: salicylic acid, sulfur and benzoyl peroxide to remove excess oil. Another way to minimize the presence of additional oil in the skin is to wash the face with the hottest water you can stand. 6. Minimize use of harsh cleansers and use acne care items that exfoliate the skin gently. Do not rub vigorously to the affected areas. 7. If your hands are dirty, do not touch your face. 8. If you have long hair, tie your hair so it stays away from her face. This is especially true if the weather is hot and you have to sweat. Preventive steps acne skin care are as important as the treatment of acne itself. With prevention, at least, knows how to make sure that your acne problem does not escalate and spread to more infected area.
